Flinch: A Staring Contest for Strangers

Flinch is an interesting product to be sure. It was well established when I came to Krush, and I came in mostly to impact the UX, according to the way the users actually behaved within the app. The concept is fantastic though. Essentially, we took two strangers from anywhere on earth, put them in a video call and tracked their micro-expressions. The first person to smile, lost. We took this concept and gamified it, with a global leaderboard and top players. Even now, a few years after the app released there are hundreds of people playing at any given time and millions of games played per month.
